I am trying to remove the switches from the panel and it is not very easy. Is there a special tool? There is got to be an easy way. Thanks

Thanks for posting this I was going to replace a switch in a couple weeks, will pick up the tool soon. I would have wasted a half day trying to figure it out plus turning it into a crap-y day.

You can do it with a couple of screwdrivers as well, if your very careful. But the tool is cheap and worth it.

That tool is for removing the switch activator (the cover) not the switch itself. For the switch itself that is removed from the front of the panel, you have to sort of work it up through the hole in the panel with a couple of screwdrivers carefully. There may be a separate tool for that as well, but I haven't seen one.

The tools are plastic, they are very durable, I will see if I have the instruction sheet on using it and will post it up.

As I said if you are only doing it one off or so, you can use a couple of screwdrivers or flat blades once you understand he they click together.

We sell the tool here for about $3.50, considering they are from the US, you should get them cheaper there, hence my comment on the postage!

Actually if you go to our website. www.roadrunnerparts.com.au, left hand side click switches and relays, then rocker switches, then Contura series. At the bottom of that page, it shows the tool being used to remove the actuator.

The other end of the tool ( the end the fingers are holding, is used to remove the switch out of the mounting panels, picture of panels above the removal tool.

If you look at the line drawing of the switches, you will see from the side view, that there is a spring plastic lock on each side. Basically what you do is slide the tool between the body of the switch and the mounting panel to compress that lock, and push the switch out. Personally I find it easier with 2 tools, one on each side, otherwise I seem to loosen one, start the other and the first side locks!
