Removing Transom Scuppers

New to me 1999 370 EC. I am in the middle of re-sealing/re-bedding hardware and fasteners around the transom before launch. The boat has the plastic, oval-shaped scuppers with the spring-loaded flap. Both are intact and in good shape, so I'd like to keep them that way when I remove them. No fasteners that I can see, so I assume they are just bedded in with caulk? I was going to try heating them up with a hair dryer to soften the sealant and work them out. Any tips from someone that's done this, hopefully without breaking them? Thanks!!
