Hi all. I'm looking to replace my hot water heater in my 2002 380da. It is located under the mid cabin berth. I currently have an Atwood EHM-6-SM. The dimensions of the Attwood are 13" deep, 13" high and 16" wide. I cant't seem to find a replacement that will fit in that space. Has anyone had any luck finding a replacement?

The Kuuma should be a drop-in replacement for most of us. There are several options for flange and plumbing connection locations. I picked mine up at Defender marine, fit perfectly.

i can also vouch for the Kuuma, been great for a few years

is the water heater really under the aft bed in a 380? I assumed they were all in the ER

I installed a Kuuma 11gal this year on mine. Great results so far.

The question on these tanks for me is:

Where/How does one install the sacrificial zinc ?

AND ...

Should I assume that is a FRESHWATER zinc?

BEST !

I haven't done it yet.But many have put a Tee at the drain and put the Anode in there.
1 reason I haven't yet is trying to decide what to put for an aluminum tank.

Are you saying they have a sacrificial zinc that needs to be replaced or you would like to add one? I was not aware of these head zincs in them that need to be replaced.

EDIT: never mind, just did some research on these and sure enough they have an anode. I never knew. Although what I read said some water heaters don't have an anode fitted as standard.

In replaced the aging factory ATWOOD with the only one available at the time: Kuuma.

Will likely remove the drain valve and install a TEE with a provision for a FRESHWATER??? zinc.

Is this correct?

MAD, not sure what you asking. The old Atwood had steel case which rotted if the shelf held water. The new Kuuma case are aluminum. The original Atwood was 30yo when replaced. This Kuuma will outlive me.
