I'm posting this video to show how hard it is to break the vehicles windows. I wonder if these windows can shatter like they used to when you use those pointed window tools. That glass sure seems extra tough in the video.

A friend of mine scraps a lot of cars and I tested my window cracker seat belt cutter on one of the junkers. It worked great. You definitely need something pointed to break through a car window.

Correct, I still have my seat belt cutter from when I was a firefighter.

They break a lot easier from the inside out than from outside in. I hit a side window once with a 5lb fire extinguisher and it bounce back in my face and the glass didn’t break also if the window is open just a inch or so it is even harder to break

I’m not sure if shooting out your window after an entrapment is the first choice to go to. If you know where the bullet will go, I guess. Get a window cracker.

A center punch works really well on tempered glass.

Laminated glass on side windows is becoming more popular. It is easy to see, roll the window down halfway and look at the edge, you can easily see the 2 separate pieces of glass sandwiched around the plastic.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 comes to mind.

I have it on pretty good authority that a .40 S&W works wonders on car windows.
I only brought it up because I've got two new driver grandkids. When I came across this video I was surprised how tough the window was. They haven't always been that hard to break. I'll have to look around for a good emergency tool, I don't think they're ready for shootin' the windows out.
