Are these boats very common? I'am looking for a mid seventies SRV 200 Oxford, MI built with the Ford/Mercruiser I/O in realitivlly good condition. The ones I find are junked for parts, or wasted interiors, seizes engines, etc. I don't see many for sale that are in useable condition. That leads me to belive that they are still very popular and nobody wants to get rid of them, or they were so expensive new they never sold many. I realize my options are rather picky, but that is what I'am looking for.
thanks,
Brian

Not sure how many were made but they are still out there. Like you stated, they are either parts boats or still in use - or sitting in a barn/warehouse/driveway some where.

To find one you may need to loosen your parameters some and be a little more flexible though...

Brian,

Try craigslist. There are often some of these available. Good luck in your quest!

What's the difference between a SRV 200 and an SRV 200 Oxford? Appointments? My 1976 SRV 190 has everything optional except wind shelid wipers and is in literally perfect condition. I looked at the Sea Ray website Archives and saw SRV 200s and an SRV 200 Amberjack, but no Oxford.....what was special about it?

76SRV190,

He's referring to where the boat was built. Oxford, Michigan. the plant is now closed.

may have been. that was one of there main faclilities for years.

there is a post here that gives the codes for the locations of where the various models are/were built.

I have an SRV 200 with a 351 Merc. outdrive in excellent shape new topp, travel cover etc,. My kids are getting past this stage and am thinking of parting with the boat. Are you still interested. I'm located in Ontario, Canada.

recently picked up an srv 200 1978, beutiful boat with the lines you dont find nowadays. Gonna be workin on it over the winter to get it in perfect shape. Has a chevy mercruiser 260 that runs strong. Pretty decent shape considering it had been out of use for over a year when I got it, anyways I found it on craigslist for 600$

I just got one of craigslist for $1500. in mint condition.
Only 220 original hours on the clock, never in salt water. Runs and looks like a new boat!
I Love it!

I own a 1975 20' Amberjack, or that is what the title says. It is a center console with a merc I/O. Does anyone know the correct model or have original pics? I would like to restore it or possible upgrade?

Thanks

As you guys seem to be the experts. I own what was described on the original sales receipt as a 1975 20'amber jack. This is a center console craft with the 888 merc I/O. Does anyone have any additional info on this Sea Ray. I was told that they were only made in 1975/76 in this configuration. IF you can help out, I would be greatly appreciative. I may want to sell her. Times are a bit tough and she is in great shape only being stored outside for the last two years.

Thanks

The amberjack was made between 75-76. It is a great boat and weighs in at around 3000lbs. Heavy for a 20 footer but thats how they were built in the day. Mine hold 24 gals of fuel and the 188 gets to about 40-45 mph at 5000 rpm. I paid $1700 for mine 4 years ago and have about $700 invested in the interior including the 2 new seat which I got at 50% off when Boater World went out of business on Hilon Head. I added a sterio system and ship to shore radio for lake Michigan boating. 188 and outdrive were both rebuilt 1 year prior to my buying it. Original paint still shines. If I were to sell it I would not be afraid to ask $3600-4000 for it but it's not for sell. I love it.

I would like to see pictures and info about the 75,76 center console my dad had one rigged for fishing on lake michigan,it was nice

Hi Brian,

I just bought a 84 SRV200 that's a project. I live down in Waterford and I've been watching Craig's List a lot for parts. There's quite a few places up and down the east side that have repos, parts boats, and project boats. I saw one listed recently that was a twin to mine in much better condition, but it was missing an engine. And those mercruisers are available all over the place. So I'd keep a close eye on CL and see if you can find what you're looking for. BTW, I just paid $600 for mine, and I need to get the engine runnin and replace the upholstery, so there are some really good deals around here. Lots of distressed sellers and too few buyers. It's a buyer's market here in Michigan.
