Why on bigger Sea Rays are the engine keys and switches in the cabin with start switches at the helm? Other boats simply have keys at the helm.
Came up in Facebook group and I thought I would ask the Hive Mind here.

I've often asked the same thing. My only theory is the bigger boats are more expensive so it helps to mitigate accidentally leaving the keys out for all to see. Of course it's probably just as easy to leave the keys and breakers turned on in the cabin, but you are less likely to leave the cabin unlocked.

My old Chris Craft had the same setup. Keys were next to the power panel. Just inside the door, so you didn't have to move too far. Probably adds a level of security.
