On our new 2011 we dedicated a 900 cranking AMP Blue top Optima for operation exclusive to our thruster.
It always re-charges from the engine's electrical, generator and/or shore power.
The as-built factory schematic calls for a 9 AMP fuse,, the factory installed a 3 amp with sloppy, creative, pathetic wiring (you may have to call Sea Ray to get the exact location of the wiring and fuse),, so the final consensus with our dealer is run with a 10 amp fuse.
Hold these thoughts if you encounter thruster problems. Dealer claims our findings have applied to all model and size boats and solved lot's of grief and headaches.
Operating it in short blasts is a plus to reliable operation too.
So far, in spite of the issues,, glad we bought it. It has been amazing.
