Spun a rod bearing. 160,000What happened to the motor? How many miles?
Actually got a used motor with 100,000. Installed King rod bearings. The factory ones are supposedly soft and the tab wears allowing them to spin. King bearings are supposedly a good replacement. Even used N55 engines are $3000-5000. I found this for $3000.Putting a crate engine back in? Do they even sell crate engines for them foreign cars?
Didn't the M6s have the same problem with rod bearings?Spun a rod bearing. 160,000
Well done, not many people do that kind of thing with cars nowadays, they have become disposableReady to go back in in the morning. I'm whooped tonight.

Back in yesterday morning. I decided I needed to walk away from it for a day or 2. LolWell done, not many people do that kind of thing with cars nowadays, they have become disposable
Your daughter better hook you up with a great present.Back in yesterday morning. I decided I needed to walk away from it for a day or 2. Lol
Very nice!Good stuff. I'm in the process of building a 69 Camaro RS restomod for a client right now. POwer is from a 540 cubic inch all aluminum BBC, right in the 700 hp range, couples to a magnum 6 speed and 35 spline Ford 9 inch.
Very nice example. Jealous.Engine compartment. Wilwood disc brakes, Vintage Air, tubular A arms and control arms. View attachment 157186View attachment 157187View attachment 157185
I'm hoping to get her to help clean up the shop.Your daughter better hook you up with a great present.
Very much so. Pretty sure that's what all of the Nascar guy's use to this day.Very nice!
Question: most of the high-end GM restomods I see where big horsepower is added use Ford rear-ends. Are they that much more robust than the GM options?
Looking like a top shelf build.Good stuff. I'm in the process of building a 69 Camaro RS restomod for a client right now. POwer is from a 540 cubic inch all aluminum BBC, right in the 700 hp range, couples to a magnum 6 speed and 35 spline Ford 9 inch.
So very jealous. That's my bucket list car. I will get one in the next couple years. Not much physical activity on my part today. Well, other than making sure the driveway had no snow or ice on it. The Chevelle made the trip from Chicago to my house.View attachment 157174View attachment 157176View attachment 157175
A buddy of mine is a Rush fan and when he bought his C8 he had a badge made for the rear bumper. This is my current project, not my car, but an exact looking one. My car was keyed one night when it was in a public parking garage (outdoor) and I lost interest after that. But now some 10years later I am going to restore it and make it like new again. I have already started and have ordered a completely new interior. That is going in after I finish the suspension.
This car reminds me of the Rush song Red Borchetta, as I used to drive this when that song came out. Funny how the lyrics are not that far off from what's going on today ...
