Tell us what it is. Replica?
Yes, it’s a replica of a 1955 Porsche 550. There we 90 originals made. The photos are from a magazine shoot a few months ago. It weighs 1500 lbs. and has a 250hp turbo engine it.Tell us what it is. Replica?
Very nice. It must scoot along. Do you track it?Yes, it’s a replica of a 1955 Porsche 550. There we 90 originals made. The photos are from a magazine shoot a few months ago. It weighs 1500 lbs. and has a 250hp turbo engine it.

I have not tracked it. It has extremely narrow tires, which is period correct, but not a lot of traction. I use it mostly to drive the canyon roads and PCH, by the ocean.Very nice. It must scoot along. Do you track it?
Michigan has vintage car races for cars like this and the 356 and newer models. Amazes me that collectors risk their prize cars on tracks. Porsche owners are a little bit unique I'm learning.I have not tracked it. It has extremely narrow tires, which is period correct, but not a lot of traction. It is definitely quick and has a ton of torque. It can bark the tires in all 4 gears. The original was 100 hp, so it is definitely over powered.
Yeah, I got heavily involved in these cars when they first hit here in early 99. Got to drive one of the hot weather test mules in July 98, went to school on them in 99, and ended up going to all of the big east and weat coast gatherings for the first 4 years or so. Didn't own one myself until 2012. That was an 01 225 coupe in denim blue with a bunch of mods. Loved that car.View attachment 52235 This is the first TT I bought, front wheel drive, manual transmission, 180HP. It had just been introduced at the car shows in Europe and caused quite a stir due to its ground breaking design and high quality interrior. I believe Audi was selling just 140 TTs/month in the US in 2017
250 hp in this has to be nuts. I sold some Beck Speedsters back in the day, but the strongest one I remember was a 150-160hp 2160cc car. Very cool....snip.....bunch of 550 pics....
