So, lets talk weather....

We have had insane winds up at our place on Georgian Bay. Too windy for the snow to stay near the house. Wind scoured the ground bare. Funny to see the dog squatting and the turds blowing away as they fall.

Now that's windy. My guy hates going on the snow and ice. Lots of aborts during the morning walks since Friday. It's so bad for him it's once a day.

Glad it wasn't you.
Thank you and ‘Me Too’ ! Going to try this weekend with the neighbor. We’ve actually been fishing a few times across our small lake and have had up to about 5” of ice, with the exception of the warm spell and rain around New Years weekend.

Some people are nuts and will do anything to catch the elusive ice fish - like die. If we’re on an ice fishing trip and the ice sux, that’s the perfect time to explore local dive bars and talk about ‘not ice fishing’.

That is my kind of ice fishing.

The lake below our lake, Table Rock's dam is world renowned for trout fishing. It is especially good for rod and reel fishing in late November and early December. In 2019 my buddy and I hired a guide and took our sons trout fishing. Between the 4 of us we caught our limit of 16 rainbow trout and killed a bottle of Fireball. It was 25 degrees when we got on the lake. That is cold enough, I don't need any ice.

OMG, We were only supposed to get an inch of snow today, we're going on 5" right now and still coming down until ~10PM.

@Pirate Lady you said we don't don't get snow here! :p

Yeah, @Pirate Lady, I was gonna move there because you said you don't get snow. Now I have to find a new place.

I didn't do much ice fishing, mostly as a kid. I'm not comfortable driving on the ice, even if there's 3' I'm driving with the window down.

I got 2” today, mostly stopped by 10am. You’re on the other side of the Bay. Probably getting the equivalent of ‘lake affect’ on the Great Lakes.
I cleaned off car at 9am, that was pretty much it. Roads were just wet.

That was total of Tuesday (2”) and today (2”).

Here it is Jan 20th of '24...I haven't had to plow snow yet, not even once. What snow we got a couple times melted away and the last one just got packed down.

I’m not gonna do it to you guys today…
