Well hell.....just sold the boat in 2 days on boat trader. Buyers drove 6.5 hrs and bought it on the spot after a sea trial.

Decided we need an outboard boat for the boating we do now. We now live on the water with a dock and do mostly day trips. Looking at 29' walkarounds with twin outboards (10.5' beam).

I Want to be able to pull up to the beach and also reduce my fuel burn. Still need a "real" head and a small but nice cabin.

Anybody run a twin outboard?

why a walkaround? can get a 25' cc with a step down in the console and a real head - at that size, a big single will be fine - keep it simple - we ditched the cruiser for a condo a year and a half ago and bought a cc - i went a bit too small (21') and sold that and settled on a 27' performance cc with a 300R

I really like the Pursuit 285 OS. Have never run one, but they seem to be really well build and the cabin has some nice amenities.

Gotta have a cabin with aft bed for the wife. I like the Pursuits!

A friend of mine downsized from a 560DB to a Pursuit 385OS. (And bought a big home on the water) that pursuit is a sweet boat. He paid about the same as he sold the 560 for though.

Wow....a bit outta my league but awesome!

We're in process of doing the same thing. Bought a condo, Sold the 420, bought a 24' roundabout but are now in the hunt to upsize a bit and go to outboards. We love the Tiara 34LS but $$$ and they're so new there's no older pristine ones to buy at a decent savings.

Looked at Whalers and Pursuits, both CC and dual console, but the living space is non-existent unless you go the hard-core fishing route.

Love the Formula 330/350 CBRs but outboard versions are $$$ and few in the used market.

So now we have to decide what to compromise on. Dollars, size or amenities. So far no clear answer so may go smaller CC outboard for a few years until we retire.

Heading to St Petes boat show in January. Maybe that'll shed some light.

I like the Wellcraft 290 & Seaswirl 2901.....with 10.5' beam.

Nice. Is that little aft area behind the stairs "sleepable" size or only for storage? It would be really nice to have for storage, but great if it could be used for kids to sleep.

Not been on one yet but looks maybe "sleepable" for a small adult.

I know all about the 290 coastal , I just sold one to one of my buyers last week, this is my pick as well, The aft cabin is good for two medium size adults or one large adult huge v berth, rides pretty good top and 42 kts cruises at 30 kts pounds a little bit in a head sea, but to be expected at those speeds. A lot of people are re-powering them with 300s

Congrats Quint, life changes and so did ours were right behind you on an outboard day boat. Yours looks awesome best of luck…
We have no use for a cabin just a day head and outboard to trim up lay her gently on a sandbar, have fun then head home for showers and pool time for the Grandkids is my plan. We’re done sleeping on the boat after building a home in Fla now.change is coming.

Maybe look at the Axopar 28 line. Finnish boats made for the fjords over there. Have some interesting designs and options using a modular approach.
