I have a 2007 175 sport and just wanted to ask a question or two on things to do before I put in this spring. First one and the only thing I have been informed to do is to change the water / fuel seperator. Is this true first off, and is it the only thing that I really need to do before firing up the boat. First boat and first time having a boat after winterization. I have kept the battery on a low charge all winter in my basement and that is ready to go. Thanks for the help.

I always change the fuel/water separator in the fall, when I put it away, that way I don't have any issues with any possibility of ice in there freezing/splitting the separator.[/quote]

I always let the mechanic do this one. How hard is it to change?

On my Gas engine 4.3 L, it looks like an oil filter, about the same size and everything, and it sits right on top of the engine. Other engines I'm sure are different.

What you do in the spring mostly depends on what was done in the fall. Oil changed, drive serviced, anodes, gas filters, bottom paint, etc..?
