So the prop shop was able the fix my damaged prop and I went ahead and bought a set of 4 blades . What's the best store them on board.

Wrap them in towels so they don't bounce around and put a hole in the bottom of the boat.:)

??

You mean a pre-existing/factory-installed mount? Not one you moved from the engine room to the bunk room?

Or...?

-Chris
It's a stainless steel platform (12" x 12") with a 6" bolt sticking out. The first prop goes on that, the second prop goes on top and another "12 x 12" with a bolt goes through the top prop and then the two bolts screw together. They really have no where to move around under the bunk. And the weight is further forward. I think the factory spot for spare props was over the bilge pumps in the aft bilge...

You mean you installed that? Or the boat came (to you?) that way? I don't remember seeing anything like that under our bunk...

I suspect ours are in the (or "a"?) factory location, just forward of where the ladder comes down... PITA... in between the ladder and the main engine compartment, with a wood shelf cover. Mentioned in the "Steering" section of the Parts Manual, but not illustrated.

That was the factory location. You are right -PITA. I think that part may have come from there...I had no wood shelf or prop mounts in my bilge. In fact, I've built a wood platform over the bilge pumps where my wet/dry vac now sits.

Yeah, I've been thinking to do that too. It's otherwise a bit too fiddly trying to move around in that area without standing on (and breaking) something.

Since I saw you mention it in the other thread, I've been planning to move our props to under the guest bunks... when I get a round tuit. I think maybe in conjunction with our next prop scan, and that assumes our spare props are the same size as our currently-installed wheels (haven't checked).

They have finally gotten too heavy for Susan and I to move ourselves - we are just too old - esp after my back surgeries. I'm amazed how easy they are to move with a tip to the dock boy!!
Don't talk about 'too old'. I was coming into my marina, my wife was standing by the mid cleat to throw a line to a dock hand. Just as I was pivoting the boat to back into the slip she steps down into the cockpit. I asked her what she was doing....she said 'I have to get a line, I forgot it'.

Looking for some creative ideas to store a spare prop and hub pieces. Bowling bag my best approach so…Have seen online bags for 100+ and that’s just not going to happen.

My boat is much smaller, my prop is only a 14x14.25 and I use an Acme prop bag (it came with a puller, tools and a hardware kit). But Harbor Freight has Pelican style cases that would fit most props.

I keep mine in the basement. I would maybe bring my spare set if I was doing a very long cruise but that’s it. On an inboard boat, it has to be pulled and put on a travel lift to change the prop anyways. I really don’t see the need to keep a spare set on the boat.
