The Grim reaper strikes. Official death thread

Walt Garrison, a former NFL fullback who played nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and won a Super Bowl with them in 1971, has died. He was 79.
 
CINCINNATI — Jerry Springer, the onetime mayor and news anchor whose namesake TV show featured a three-ring circus of dysfunctional guests willing to bare all — sometimes literally — as they brawled and hurled obscenities before a raucous audience, died Thursday at 79.

Isn't that weird. It just came up in my Chicago Tribune news feed a few minutes ago. I looked again and the article was written 4/27/23. Never mind.

Some actors leave a mark so they only need to use first name. He was one. When i told my wife “Paulie died” She knew immediately who i meant.
You made the movie, Paulie, rip.

I played team tennis last night with a guy I used to play with 30 years ago. We were having/doing the "did you hear about <insert name> he died from this...or <insert name> he died from" conversation...depressing. I guess at least we are still around to have the conversation.

I got kinda the opposite thing going on that last couple years. Whenever I think of an old friend, like ought to give them a call or stop in to see them they pop up in the obits a couple weeks later.

I'm more careful now, only reminisce about people I don't like;)
