Perhaps. 2 more disclosures. My toilet uses more water than my drinking, and we use the boat A LOT. I have NSA filters on the galley sink, the cockpit sink, the cockpit ice maker, and the transom shower. So, double whammy to the growth. Never had a smell or bad taste to anything coming out of my tank. For the last 3 boats at least. Peal products, if you're that old. Peggy knew her stuff.Chlorine is added to the water supply to kill bacteria. With the filtered system the chlorine is removed causing bacteria to grow in the boat water lines. When the boat is left the water supply is shut off. The filtered water will grow bacteria and mold in the water lines since the chlorine is filtered out. And the lines are left with no flow and subjected to warm temperatures where bacteria can grow. Also if a fresh water holding tank is filled with filtered water imagine what could grow there.
