Hi all,
I've just purchased a 1997 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer after finally deciding that it was time to move up from our 185 sport and explore new waters. I bought it knowing I was going to have to do some work to the brakes as someone replaced an axle and never put the brakes back on. The actuator/hitch is still there but not sure if it still functions right. I was looking online at some full disc brake kits that come with everything including the lines and fittings. The thing I'm wondering about is the weight rating of the kit. The hitch on it now takes a 2-5/16" ball. Im assuming the axles are 3500lbs axles. One of the kits i looked at offered 10" discs with a 7000lb actuator that I think takes a 2" ball. I know the boat weighs 5300lbs dry then you need to factor in the trailer and gear and everything else.
Just wondering what other people are running for brakes and actuators for similar size boat?
