Transmission is ZF-280IV. Engine is Cummins QSC. Pumped old oil out the dipstick tube and drained the rest out the 36mm filter/strainer access at the bottom of the tranny. Took a nice pic of those parts below.

Looks like the same as the straight 280’s on my boat. Not sure about the filter as being the lowest point. If it’s like mine (it may not be) the drain plug is lower and if you can get at it, pulling the plug will get the last bit out. I use one of those aluminum drip pans that go in my Weber grills, but any container that fits under there and you can get out when full of oil without spilling works, and that is where the dirtiest oil is. About 2 more cups of oil come out after I have sucked out the tranny and pulled the filter. Some guys install the drain hose kit to make life easier next time. I haven’t bothered, but might be a nice option on a v-drive.
Drain plug is under the coupler in this picture of mine. It also has a crush washer like the filter so look for it so you don’t have it drop into your oil pan and then dump it into another container never to be seen again. It’s no problem to use them over and over.

I started out as Mark indicates with an aluminum turkey pan under it to catch the oil. Next time installed the valves with a short piece of hose and made it so much easier....

Mark, do you recall if the size on those drain plugs is 22mm?

Sounds right. I know it’s near the top end of my wrench set that’s on the boat and they go up to 24.
