Transmission Question

I have yet to figure out how to change my tranny fluid. How do you tell how much to put in?
I can't find it anywhere, as well as the type of fluid. I haven't found a definitive answer, and I need to change it.

The manual for the ZF 63 IV can be found at https://simplicity-marine.com/pdf/Z..._IV_ZF_80-1_IV_ZF_85_IV_code_310_01_0009h.pdf . According to the manual, the transmission takes 4.4 liters of ATF Dexron III.

According to the manual there is a drain plug at the bottom of the transmission. This usually isn't practical to use because of the location of the transmission. The manual also indicates that a suction pump can be used to extract the transmission fluid by removing the filter and inserting the suction tube into the tube at the bottom of the filter housing.

The filters are steel and can be cleaned and reused. Put them in a Tupperware bowl full of mineral spirits and agitate.
