Transmission solenoid intermittent engages

I have 44 sundancer with the 500 cummins . A few years back the transmission would come out of gear and go to neutral . I replaced both solenoids on transmission and that solved it . Now it did it , same port motor yesterday ..do these solenoids go out every so often . It was say 300 hours since last replacement .
I can get the solenoid to work by wiggling it . I tightened the center bolt that holds on the plastic electrical three pronged clip and it worked but then slipped out again . Helm says it is in gear as light is on at helm for in gear .
When it is not working , it does not make that "click " sound when shifter is pushed forward . Then , if I wiggle the wire or tighten the bolt , it works for awhile
replace solenoid again??

I contacted ZF and found out that the three pronged wire connector clips to the solenoids are reported as defective issue . The LED lite in the clip shorts out the clip Replaced with new no LED lite clip and it seems all is fixed . Easy job , very inexpensive . numerous boat makes were affected .
