What's the deal with prices on new universal joints for the Alpha One Gen 2 outdrive? My drive takes the U-joints with the external locking ring. The prices I have found both at dealers and Internet are anywhere from $100 to $200 each!!!! I replaced them on my pickup about 5 years ago and paid about $24 each. There has to be an automotive substitute part number for joints that would work. I ran across a number posted in one of the other
forums and that particular joint had the inside C clip style retainers. Too bad because these u-joints were $22 at AutoZone. Has anyone ran across this problem finding an automotive substitute with outside locking rings?? Sure would appreciate a part number!!
