Newbie (at transducer service) question.
My depth sensor has become unreliable at best. Getting readings of 7' in the middle of the Puget Sound at times. Is this sensor serviceable in the water? I take it, from reading the manual, that the paddlewheel insert is removeable due to a self-sealing valve upon removal and the blanking plug that is zip tied to it. But I'm a little unclear if the depth sensor is on the paddlewheel insert itself or separate. I just haven't worked on this thing before so welcome any tips. I read that I can clean the sensor itself with a scotchbrite pad but is that sensor actually on the paddlewheel assembly?
Anything I should be watching out for other than lubricating the orings on install?
Also unclear if I can purchase the sensor assembly without buying the fairing block.
