New owner (less than 1 week) of a 2003 360 Sundancer and need to upgrade the electronics. The SC5000 display is hardly visible. Currently the boat has a Lowrance 7 HDS, SC5000, Autopilot and new VHF radio. It appears none of the devices are connected since the VHF doesn't get have position info and the SC5000 doesn't show depth. I need to upgrade the Lawrance because I have a Simrad 3G radar from our old boat to install and the HDS doesn't support it. I really want to use the Simrad NSS9, but I don't think it will fit as it is 11.3". So the fall back is a Lowrance 9 carbon. I am trying to decide on installing a VV display or getting a Simrad/Lowrance multi-function device and the VV Link. My thought process is the MFD display would be a better quality display than the VV. I then think I can tie everything together on a NMEA 2000 backbone.
Just trying to see what others have done when replacing their SC5000 display.
