wash brush

In the 3yrs that I've own my boat. I never used a brush on it !!.
You'll be surprised at what 3000psi of soap & water does on it with alot less work.
I wash the boat every Saturday during boating season. :smt038

Yeah... pressure washers are really really good for washing a boat. You can blow out all that nasty caulk and bedding material around fittings and windows and deck seams.. who needs that stuff anyway?! Get it down real close to the deck and you can get rid of that nasty oxidized gel coat as well!

WOT all day and 3000 psi on the wash job every weekend! Way to go!!!

I like the Shurhold stuff because they put a white rubber ring around the solid part the bristles connect to. If you use a cheap plastic brush, everytime you hit the fiberglass with the edge, it leaves marks... black plastic brush = black plastic marks on the boat.

Four Suns you're just pissed that you don't know how to use a pressure washers. :smt021
And why do you think you know more than the rest of us ??.
I DON"T RUN MY MOTORS AT WOT ALL DAY !!. Get off the little digs you do at me .:smt013
I run them 30 to 40mins at a time at WOT.
.Maybe your boat motors are JUNK and can't handle it ?? :smt043

Why are you getting nasty? I was agreeing with you. and I do know how to use a pressure washers.

Boys, Boys come on now.

Wayne you know you open yourself up for Gary to attack. Saying you use a 3000psi pressure washer that can blow holes in asphalt to wash your boat doesn't help. Now if you said you use a pressure washer with a wide spray pattern and keep it moving may have been better.

As far as the WOT goes, if it floats your boat (pun intended) go for it. I prefer not to stress my engines that much. Maybe run WOT for a couple of minutes but that is it. I want them to last for many years to come. You may have very strong motors but if you keep running WOT you are testing them each and every time IMHO.

Now shake hands and make up... or keep entertaining us!

Why are you getting nasty?
I'm not !!.

Its this comment that you are saying its wrong to use a pressure washers. :smt021
I'm 53yrs old and I know how to take care of my boat.
Remember ?? I'm the guy that put 650hrs on my boat in one season WITHOUT a single breakdown !!. :smt001
What works for me may not work well for others.
I guess you type one thing but you're saying it another way.

Yep they carry 40psi of oil pressure all day long
I'm not mad at Gary :smt001

I just purchased the shurhole pole and brushes in the fall. I was lucky and while I was in the local Gander Mountain they had the accessories for the handle on sale. They had brushes for 75% off and another 25% off the lower price. I picked up 10 and 12 inch brushes from Shurhold for a couple bucks each. I bought everything they had and handed them out as gifts at the end of the season. Brushes, brooms, mops, shamis, squegees and the angle adapter for reaching the sides.

Did you get the curved attachment??? that goes on the end of the collapsable pole for curved part the sides ???

Finally a topic I know something about.....It is part of my business.....I would make a blanket statement that 3000 psi is way overkill and would certainly at the minimum remove any wax that is on the boat and can certainly do more damage than that....I will also say that it can be safely with the right operator behind the wand and with the right tip.....I just would not want my wax/protection being removed everytime.......Most coin operated car washes use 750 psi and that will even remove wax if not careful.....Most marinas use 1500 to 200 psi machines to clean the bottoms of boats...My boat is always missing bottom paint or has cut into the paint when I look at it prior to each bottom paint.....Not saying it cant and isn't done with great caution, but I would use a 500 psi unit with the right tip for general weekly cleaning.........I also dont use a stream setting on my nozzle whenever I clean my boat, I always use a spray or my nozzle with a 6" hose attached for a flow stream.....
