I live in Wisconsin so its starting to cool off already. This next week we put the boat through winter prep and get her stored.

What do those of you who live in states where you must store for the winter do with your winter?

Ever since we bought the boat this year thats been our weekend.
The admiral and I have some re3toration plans for the interior and stuff for over the course of the winter but Im at a loss for god ideas for how to spend our time now.

What do You guys do?

The Mrs and I play a lot of tennis. We limit our play during the boating season and pick it back up in the winter. We will have dinner/go out for drinks with our boating buds versus doing same on the water.

We will actually use the boat unless is really really cold out.

who are you calling dirty?

I try to actually get some work done during the winter months.

Skiing and snowboarding with the kids...Many trips north to Vermont...

Look at Boats.

Get together with our non-boating friends. Through New Years - there is usually so much going on that we are okay. After the Superbowl. I am ready to go boating.

Thats actually a great idea, We have quite a few friends that had to go without our company with us being out. Some we took with, some..... and your not going to believe such a creature exists...Some have no intrest at all in being on a boat, ever :wow:

You folks in the south are so lucky! But I get out the snowmobiles and head even more north. I am fortunate to have our boat in a heated garage so when the wax is done time is spent rearranging and tiding up wiring.

I sit at my desk, stare out the window at the cold, crappy weather, get enormous due to eating double whoppers, and think about summer.

I surf youtube videos

I polish and wax my boat for the third and fourth times during the year. It is cool enough to overnight on the hook. I look for a light jacket, just in case we have a cool morning that never comes. The Admiral and I spend Christmas afternoon boating down the coast. We watch the fireworks on New Years eve from the deck of the boat. Then sometime in late February I dig out the skiis, pack them up and head for Montana. There's nothing like not being in Florida during the month of March with all those obnoxious tourists. :smt038:smt038:smt038

This winter, going for the OUPV (6-Pack). In general, polish the bridge enclosure, surf YachtWorld, plan for new boat accessories.

Also, I do chores around the house, which doesn't happen April-November.

Step away from the edge ...it'll be OK.

We're trying to keep boating all winter long

This could fill a book, but...

We go skiing for weekends up at Mount Snow at a trailside condo, snowmobile through the VAST trails, at home we get the fireplaces roaring and drink hot cocoa and play boardgames as a family (and alone, just Amy and I later on at night;-), we seem to do a lot as a family in the winter in the house together, make use of the outdoor fire pit, snowball fights, build snowmen, sledding, hot tubbing (awesome in winter!), play ice hockey at the rink (though I do this all year), play pond hockey with the kids, or just ice skate, go to winter carnivals that our town has, we go to movies during the winter (never in the summer it seems), have a lot of dinner parties with friends and family (we cook a lot in the winter), and lots and lots of other fun stuff.

Winter is just fine with us, as are all changes of season. We would never live anywhere else :smt001

College Football, Christmas shopping, skiing, cross country skiing, home projects, Spokane and Seattle Boat show, Hawaii (or someplace warm), fire up the travel trailer and plan our next big boating trip. Last year we started planning our San Juan trip in August. Decided to get a new boat, so we bought a bigger boat in September! We do other "stuff" but I can't mention those on a public forum like this.
