I was hoping to order a replacment filter for my 2006 320. I havent removed the existing one yet, so I am not sure which size I need. Any help would be appreciated.

310002Filter with bracket (fits 5/8 vent hose)$65.99

3100061" Replacement Vent Filter (fits 1" vent hose)$98.99
3100031 1/2" Filter w/Bracket ( fits 1 1/2" vent hose)$124.99

Vince:
If you're like the rest of us, it's 5/8". You don't need the bracket. To be sure, see if you can read the part number off your current one and match it up with the ones in that link provided by ultratiger89 above. Your prices are pretty good, actually.

BTW, West Marine has gotten smarter with their "price match" policy. If you go in with a print out from a website, they go on the internet and figure out what the shipping would be if you ordered from that place, tack it on to the advertised price and match that. In some cases, even with shipping, it still beats their prices and you might as well get some more purchase on your rewards card. Just call ahead and make sure they have one in stock.

How's this for a rip!!

Anyone have the link to the rebuild proceedure mentioned?

It's pretty simple and around $20 total. The regular filter is made of 2" PVC piping. To refill it you cut the old filter and put in a 2" threaded PVC fitting (male and female). Where you cut it depends on how it's mounted. Using a threaded fitting lets you do the refill again as often as necessary. Just scrape off the old label, use PVC primer and glue and put on the threaded ends. Then refill it with pellets of aquarium filter charcoal. The charcoal typically comes in a half-gallon sized carton and will give you enough for several refills.

The only trouble with the threaded setup is it may be a bit tight for fitting back into the brackets or strap. This can be worked around by inserting fitting more toward one end of the filter and perhaps raising the clip or strap with a shim for more room.

Too bad. I would have sent you a replacement cartridge for free if you agreed to test it and send me any comments or concerns. We plan to sell these for about $40 plus actual shipping (no handling). Offer is open to first 3 requests via PM. It is a replacement for the one in your picture.

Also, as I discovered, the do it yourself carbon my be ok but we use a more suitable "impregnated" activated charcoal that is formulated specifically for sanitation applications.

We can also make custom sizes to meet the specific needs of your boat.
