There's more than one way to skin the fresh water winterization cat. I made a video showing the process of how I do it with my air compressor. It's a different brand of boat and every model has it's own setup, but it might be useful anyway. Heads up, it's a bit on the long side.

I have a bunch of other videos on my channel as well. Since I'm using my boat at the basis they tend to be more geared toward being Back Cove-centric, but there's some good general boating info in there too.

Thank you for sharing a great hiw to video. I use the same method now after years of using the pink stuff. Now just use pink in the drains. An air compressor hooked up to the dockside water makes the process so easy that it is amost fun except that it means the season is over. Any tips for winterizing an ice maker?
Subscibed to your channel and look forward to more.

It depends a bit on the icemaker. There are 2 types (generally): clear ice and white ice. Often then with specify not to use the pink AF because it can damage coatings on the ice maker plate surfaces.

The clear ice ones continiuously spray water on a cold plate to build up the ice, then heat the posts to eject the ice. White ice makers flow the ice into a mold, then push it out.

I had a clear ice maker. I had to disconnect the valve to blow air through the unit, then disconnect the inside parts to drain it. It also had an overboard drain to contend with. The white ice makers tend to have the plates that are damaged by the AF. For this type, you would want to have shut off the water and get all the ice out of the system. Then you may be able to set the maker to a fill cycle, then use the compressed air to clear out to lines during the fill cycle when the valve is open.

Exactly what I will be doing this weekend. I found this video from a Google and search and thought "Wait, I know that guy!"

Did you really find it that way? I just put it up on Friday night. That's funny!
