Lake Saint Clair Peeps

Oh I just met a guy at north 42 on Saturday with a 51 or 53 seeker that's from monroe but keeps his boat up here
Doesn't sound like Eric I think he is 55' ..bought the condo 2 years ago moved over from Belle Maer..lives in Troy

Fellas! What do you have for flooring/carpet? The wife and I want to upgrade from the nasty carpet. We like the Marine Weave from Snap in Carpets but we've heard it gets really hot. I would like to possibly install the SeaDek material but heard from some that its way over priced to be worth it. It looks nice though

Any suggestions?

Rich we went with the Weave also. It does get hot at times but it is easy to clean and we love it. I ordered from Snap in Carpets for the 310 but had Lakeshore do our 400. They did a great job. I had them do the flooring a little different than factory. I told them what we were looking for and they pretty much designed it. Snap in Carpet you will be installing all the snaps and carpet yourself. It's not that hard but Lakeshore was not that much more and they did it the way I wanted and installed it.. Snap In was factory layout unless you made templates. I also had a mat made for the top of my RTIC cooler to match. I'll try to find some pics when I get home, but I don't remember taking any.

Joe, do you have any pattern advice to offer? I want to go edge-to-edge at the helm and at the companionway and forego those snaps. My current berber is one piece over the engine hatch to the port wall. I've liked that, but I'm not sure I want to do it again. I want to go under the seats. I'm not sure about the transom. Right now I'm thinking of 2 unequal or 3 equal sections.

EZ, do you happen to have teak with black lines? I'm wondering if that's why it gets so hot.. The boss is pushing back on the hotness. We had a few crash landings last year on the extended platform so we're trying to resolve that first and foremost. We're leaning towards SeaDek type of material for both platforms and possible something different in the cockpit. I personally like to have the carpet out sometimes

I am like you I went back and forth on having one piece over engine hatch like I have now and decided to do it again because I would end up with 3 pieces.
One tip you can see in the pic is I drew a straight line over the 2 pieces so they could match the pattern and keep it in line as there isn't really a line to go off of. The last time I had this done they didn't match the pattern and it looked awful

How many template pieces did you use?

So your hatch section covers the fwd and port seams? No regrets? My hatch sits slightly lower than the deck next to it, but even so I like few seams...

You have to fold the carpet over when you open/close the hatch... that is the only issue. I am not sure what it would look like if you have different levels from hatch to adjacent deck

Roller when i get home I will lay it out as if its in the boat and take a pic. It will be easier than trying to explain. I only did under the aft facing cockpit seat. We store basket for misc. under the other ones.

Yes I do. I'll post pics a little later.

Here is what it looks like now...I don't have a great pic... I am going to do the same thing with the weave

Infinity woven

I have a tight weave on my 330 but the shit gets so hot when in the sun..contemplated seadek or something similar only fear is if something happens getting the desk up and replaced looks next to be a real P.I.T.A.. I did hear any of the carpets that have black backing is the ones that are hot on the feet not sure how accurate that is..still havent figured what will work best for our use

Dang, I either have to get a bigger house or smaller boat. I had to lay the stuff out on the dang driveway. Bigger house it is I guess:D:D. The picture is taken as if I'm standing on the swim platform. Notice how they squared the corners instead of having them rounded like the hatches. When I bought the boat it had the berber and you had to remove the cockpit table to remove the carpet. So they put slits in it around the table and captains chair. It didn’t even go around the captains chair, just a rectangle piece at the helm. I had to unsnap and fold it back to open the engine hatch. I told them the things that bugged me and this is what they came up with. We are very happy with it. If something gets spilled on it my wife grabs a broom, dips it in the water and brushes it off. Everything that's been spilled on it just wipes up. The cooler was my idea. Who the heck put that Ultra there:D.
