460 DA Owners Thread

We had a great weekend on our boat! It poured on Saturday, but the canvas and isinglass kept us fry! So glad we checked the forecast and put it all up!

Our Sharp Carousel Conv/microwave's display is unreadable. I've searched for a replacement control panel, but of course, it's old and no one has them. Have any of you replaced your conv/micro? If so, with what?

Thank you!!
Let me check with my buddy, we replaced his a few months back with a new convection combo unit. It maxed out the cabinet and I made a mount to hold it in place. I forgot the brand but will get it and some pics this weekend if you want.

It is a Breville Convection combo that fits perfect.

I installed this exact unit and it fit like a glove in my 410. However, It got very hot and there wasn't enough room around the unit to allow for adequate cooling IMHO, and I pulled it back out. It pumped ALOT of heat out into the cabin area as well. It was pretty expensive, and I wasn't completely sold on it being a long term solution especially at almost $500.

The oven itself is a pretty nice unit. Plenty of power on the microwave side, and nice convection features. There is a Samsung unit that is a little less expensive and the same dimensions, but doesn't get as great of reviews. There is a Toshiba unit for about $200 on Amazon that also will fit and gets great reviews.

In the 410, the exhaust fan for the galley and the head is back behind there, but its pretty weak and noisy. However, if I could get a better exhaust fan to pull the air in over the oven and exhaust it overboard, I think any of these units would work fine, but I need a way to exhaust the hot air.

Curious what your experience is. Maybe the 460 cavity is a little larger??

That Breville looks perfect. The size is just right. I haven't pulled the Sharp out yet as it works, but I can't read the display! The Toshiba I'm seeing looks too deep....

Hi folks! 370 owner here. I jumped over to your page because I have my eyes on a 2000 460. Been doing some reading and I appreciate the loads of info! I love everything about the boat, but it has the dreaded issue with water intrusion on the port side. The broker has been very upfront with me about the extent of the damage. And says he is discounting the boat accordingly because of it. It seems the repair would be to cut out about a 12-14” tall section from the forward thru hull to the engine room vent. A big repair. Estimated at about $40k on the east coast where the boat is located. However, the broker says that the issue was found in 2017 and the thru hull was sealed up then. And that’s the owner has been told that the repair isn’t necessary unless it becomes a cosmetic problem and begins to look bad. Non structural.
SO, I’m curious if your opinions about doing the repair or not?
I should say that from the survey, maintenance logs, and pictures, it appears the owner has be very good about keeping up the boat otherwise. So I question if maybe there’s some truth to simply avoiding this expensive repair.
Any insight is really appreciated!

You mention "from the survey, maintenance logs, and pictures".
Were you not present for the survey?

It’s an old survey and I haven’t seen the boat in person yet. I’ll fly out to spend some time on it, new survey, oil testing, etc once I have made up my mind about this water intrusion issue.

We are slowly making "Escape" ours! Corinthian aquaweave carpet ordered and shipped, but has been sitting at Fedex in Portland for over 2 weeks! We are eager to get it installed. SO frustrating!

Hydraulic lift for our dinghy is ordered from Florida Bow Thrusters. Show be ready to ship the end of November. I am wondering how the extra weight in the stern will affect getting on plane. Any thoughts?

We have the leak somewhere that drains into the bilge area in the mid cabin. It's causing the water pump to cycle on and off, draining our fresh water tank. The area where the hot water is, is dry as are all hoses. Washer dryer area dry too. We've pulled the ice maker, and no leaks. Any other ideas?

We LOVE this boat!!

Ok you may have more then one issue. First you can push the midcabin sofa forward and then remove the panel behind it that covers that bilge area. You should be able to see if it’s coming in from the port or the stbd side and that will help a ton. As far as the freshwater pump. There are a ton of fittings below the salon that are accessible you lift the floorboards. Check and see if any of those are wet.

Yes, we’ve accessed the bilge and pump behind the mid cabin sofa. Thanks to this thread! The water seems to be coming in from the port side. All the other underfloor areas are dry.

Oh drat! How do you remove the microwave?

Will do in the morning
Thank you!

For us 460 owners.
I have a rip in the vinyl/fax leather right by the cabin door on the inside of the cabin.

what have you used to path it or fix it?

That vinyl is still available. I would just have it recovered.
