Hey! we live in dc metro area and stay overnight on the hook every year - on the night of the 4th, DC Marine Police mark off an area of the potomac right under the monuments and hundreds of us stay overnight right there (just east of Columbia Island Marina). don't hesitate to go! for nights...

    Advice - buying "new" 2008 260DA

Thanks - it's 35% off of NADA and more than 40% off list. I agree it's not the greatest price deal but i like new; 5 year warranty on drive/engine; loaded features and strong possibility that he'll sell my 96 240 for me. Not a done deal but we'll see. Thanks again D

Does anyone have any first hand advice on lending institutions for boat loans?

If you can get into Pentagon Federal Credit Union - they are "first class!". www.penfed.org for both fixed and adjustable rates.

    Advice - buying "new" 2008 260DA

great advice; needed to hear it - yes we want the ability to overnight on the hook - just don't know how often to make a Gen worthwhile. So eager to get a nice Sea Ray at the right price so now I'll focus on the "right" SR at the "right" price. Thanks!

    Advice - buying "new" 2008 260DA

Thanks! Just wondering if $71k is a good price eventhough it will be 3 years old off the lot. I think 5 year warranty on engine/outdrive, dealer support, etc is worth something. Thanks for your help, Dennis

    Advice - buying "new" 2008 260DA

No - it doesn't have a gen but I wish it did. Also want to know if it's possible to add a 3k gen without pulling the engine. Your thoughts on the price at $71k even though it's 3 years old as soon as i purchase? I've seen lots of your posts so THANKS for all, Dennis

    Advice - buying "new" 2008 260DA

Not sure where to post this but am considering a new/left-over '08 260 with 6.2L, Windlass, AC/Heat, TV/DVD, VHF, Camper, etc. Latest price offer: $71k. NADA on' 08 says this deal is good; NADA on similarly equipped '07 says huge value drop coming. Any advice? Thanks!

    Advice - 6.2L big enough for '08 260?

Hi - I have a lead on a "new" '08 Sea Ray 260 with a 6.2 Merc. Wondering if the engine is big enough to avoid long plane, ploughing problems that others talk about? love the boat but am used to quick plane and low cruise speeds on my 96 Da240. Thanks!

How does shore power work (DA 240)?

Good help/advice from Sundancer. Here's a link to a marine product for approx $250. Seems like this would work (w/15 amp?) http://www.wmjmarine.com/gus2614a.html

How does shore power work (DA 240)?

All - thanks much. Main breaker panel near the sink/stove has only 2 switches (one for main panel and one next to "Outlets/AC". Thus, it seems that I dont have a converter/charger and that the shore power only provides elec to the two electrical outlets (to run a coffee pot, laptop, radio, etc...

How does shore power work (DA 240)?

Folks - am a rookie with a 96 240 Sundancer. While using shore power, I noticed my cabin lights dim after 2 hours or so. Of course, the batteries were dead in the morning. I assumed that the shore power was running the cabin lights - but why was I wrong? Any help appreciated. Thx!
