uh, pretty sure that's how this all got started............ ;-)And just like automobiles range is the problem and in the end it's still using fossil fuel to charge it. What they need to make is wind powered boats.

Interesting technology but OMG that thing is ugly!
We know we have to use fuel generated electric stations but at least it’s cutting our carbon footprint...
...and lessening our oil dependence by some degree...
That exposed shaft won’t last long in the shallow waters of the upper Chesapeake where bumping bottom and churning mud is a fact of boating.I think that shaft needs another strut........ wobble wobble......
Nope, my gas motor carries enuff fuel Internal tank to run 2 hours on putt, 1 hour on plane. And I can carry a tiny 1 gal can on board give me enuff range for all day. The rubber floor ain’t supporting a 60# battery to do the same, that I gotta shlep down the pier and back to charge. So no, keep the electrics on a bass boat for shallow trolling.2 hours running time at 22 kts I know that’s not a lot of distance but you have to consider the weight it’s moving it will do 35 kts and has 1000 ft lbs torque. Remember when the Prius came out? It was and still is the ugliest EV with little to no range look how far the technology has come now regular looking cars can go 400 miles and recharge in 35 mins.
like I said it’s a start I’d be happy with an Electric dinghy with good numbers
That would interest us here more on CSR I think.
39 seconds into the video he does a 180. Coming home for recharge cause that’s his range.
In the Seventies, I was all exited to build an electric car, based on something like a VW type 3. The primary limiting factor was the lead acid batteries available at the time. Weight and capacity. Then came readily-accessible ni-cad batteries. Much better power-to-weight ratio than lead acid. Still didn't make electric vehicles viable, especially out West where we travel many miles between watering holes.Sorry. Not in our lifetime.
