Well was at boat today trying to change oil before haul out next week.
when I took the fill cap off genny I noticed this whiteish jelly under cap. Pulled the dipstick and it’s really milky. Ugh
noticed last time we took boat out on way in little smoke coming from genny exhaust.
not sure if...
I noticed this issue this weekend. Speakers on port side will just cut out. When I hit something like the trim switches, the speakers will come back on. Eventually they stop again.
The boat stereo system was upgraded by previous owner. Where to start? Amp issue?
Thoughts?
I tried to start my generator yesterday but noticed no water pulling through and shut her down. Today I took the cover plate off and impeller was toast. Mossi g three vanes. Bought a new one and installed. That part went fine. I pulled the end caps off heat exchanger and found some pieces of...
Well kinda. I have been keeping an eye out for oil in prep of haulout in the next three months. I always plan ahead lol. I use Shell Rotella T1 40w in my diesels. I have noticed that no omen seems to have the 5 gallon bucket’s available and those that do are asking about 50% more than last years...
We are looking for a used dinghy. Was kind of curious of what I should look out for? really not cruising to far in the thing. Maybe trolling along
In the marinas when we don’t want to take the big boat or bring it with us on trips to explore.
So last night before heading out on our cruise, I tried to start generator with. I luck. Blowers turn on, but no preheat or generator turning over at all. I went down below this morning to see if it was the battery. Measured over 12v at battery with meter. I did turn off the chargers prior to...
Gathering some intel on good interwebz sources for vacuflush parts.
We burned out one of the pumps in our boat and might as well rebuild the whole thing while it’s out. At least it’s the easy one to get to. My boat has the s pump style I believe?
Ok so here we go yet another vacuflush issue.
So I I have a 500 SeaRay. I think these are S series where it has the giant tank separated in line with the pump. Now there are two of these set ups. Previous owner replace lines and the problem started in the guest or day head. Just wouldn’t flush...
My water heater doesn’t seem to get that hot. I make sure to run the water so that it is filled and wait 15 minutes or so to let it heat. It’s def warm but not hot like my home tab water. I’ve also noticed that rotten egg smell when you run the hot water. When I turn it on you can see the power...
I’ve got Detroit’s 6v92 in my boat
The mechanical gauges on the motors are not operating. I assume it’s the senders or the gauges. Where is the best place and prices on stuff like this? I don’t think they are marine specific right?
Anyone point me in the right direction of an led equivalent of this bulb? These are in those reading light fixtures scattered in the cabin of my SeaRay
My transom lockers on my 500 DA appear to have some sort of “wrap” on them which is deteriorating. When I wash the boat or rain, the water gets into the locker making everything nasty in those lockers. Does anyone know what that material is? I would like to replace it.
Does anyone here own the dewalt 20v max xr cordless brushless rotary buffer tool?
Curious on a review from a boaters perspective. Also battery life when compounding and polishing a boat.
Just a noob question here. I have been working in sections of the 500 trying to do a three step compound polish then wax. The boat is inside heated storage. Because I’m old feeble and weak lol I have been doing sections. So I go and spend a few hours compounding a section, leave and come back...
So I have used the fleetwax paste #885 for years with great success and all season shine on hull. Now I got a 50ft boat and wondering if the liquid version #870 is really the same stuff? Just getting old and looking for an easier solution
Just curious what you all are using to remove these monster diesel oil filters. Mine is completely stuck. I was trying to use a rubber strap wrench with no luck
The previous owner must have went with the triple torque right method of securing it.
