Thank you very much for the info. I figured that around 30GPH was a combined total of both . I really like your info screen on your Garmin. Your fuel gauge looks a lot like ours does most of the time. lol. Thanks again... Steve.
Good Morning We have a 89 340 Sundancer with twin 7.4,s In the original brochure they quote the fuel consumption as being 25-30 gallons per hour at cruising speed 22-28mph. I am pretty sure and hopeful that they mean both engines combined. Just need some input. thanks
I think to do away with the old pump and find a smaller v-belt for the engine along with the new water pump might be the best way to go. Fingers crossed.
That's the company I was referring to in above thread. they were very helpful but did say there could be an issue with the pully. I haven't completely given up on them but I do have the winter to keep looking. thx Steve.
The inspection plate which you remove to replace the impeller is on with 8 Screws which I have taken apart and removed impeller. There is no water going past the impeller when new so the pulley bearing is in a separate compartment within the pump and its turning on its own bearing (no cooling...
Hello 1989 Quicksilver 6.5 Genny on our 89 340 Dancer is in need of a new Raw water pump. Had it to pump specialist and could not get apart to replace parts (no parts can be found anyway) Did not want to break housing as it needs to go back on Genny. Apparently no inner parts or complete pump...
I really appreciate all ideas I will follow your directions and hope for the best. Up here on Georgian Bay its winterization time so I will definitely give it a try this week before Haul out. Steve.
Unfortunately not. What happens is the fuel drains out of the carb and the mechanical fuel pump takes forever to fill the carb back up after it has been sitting for a while. That's why pushing the throttles forward 10 times does absolutely nothing until the fuel gets back into the carb.
Once...
Hello there, 1989 340 Sundancer twin 7.4,s with carbs and mechanical fuel pumps. Any suggestions on starting procedure of these engines after boat sits for a few days. Im sure fuel is draining back out of carbs but without overhauling and changing fuel system to electric what can I do? I...
Hey there Great news on leveling out my 340 Dancer. Added 6 bags (approx 400lbs) of washed 5/8 gravel to front storage compartment under King bed. Boat still has slight bow rise now but lowered bow by 5". Cant believe the difference and less time to get on plane. More positive steering at...
All rope my original (Good )Windlass will only work with rope. I think I will try sand bags as it is easy to try and go from there, I realize chain would be heavier but not an option for this 34 year old.
We have a 89 340 Sundancer We added a dinghy caddy to our swim platform which is very low to the water line to begin with. I noticed we are stern heavy now with the bow being around 2 inches higher at the water line and platform is about 2" above water. I have empty compartments under the...
Gord is from Orillia Ont. Canada, and he is very proud to be Canadian. A legend in folk music and inspiration to all CANADIANS... I believe (Ding Dongs) are something eaten out of an American Vending machine.
Just had complete new canvass top installed From Snap Happy Canvas in Wiarton Ont. Canada.
They went over and above with lots of velcro and tinted isinglass. I had them add 20. inches to the height above the cock-pit so standing while cruising is no problem now. All three front panels are easy...
Yes that makes perfect sense to me. This is our third year with the boat it's third owner. We just love the fat boats. It turns a lot of heads . Thank you for the charger info. I will inquire for sure. We are on Georgian bay in Ontario Canada hoping for a drier August. Rain rain rain.. Thanks...
