Plus 1 on the fuel pressure test..
Like said above impossible to test at shredder valve I was able to test off the top of the fuel module and got 46 psi

If you have 46 psi static and anything above about 36 running that most likely isn’t your issue than. Does it hold pressure running or at least cranking?

I’m surprised that shrader works for the test. In the old pump design it wasn’t really connected to anything on the pressure side, just open to the housing. I think I have some pics in my 260 thread

my pump was trashed but I also needed to adjust the valve lash as it was a little tight and not fully sealing. That was the silver bullet.

what’s the compression like?

So you have good fuel pressure, both static and running.
I suggest disregarding the 02 sensor fault because it is most likely due to the quick auto shutdown and should not cause an auto shutdown based on the info I have read.
So I suspect a problem with the voltage reg (I know you mentioned earlier that you tested the unit with a know good one so probably not that) , a pcb computer problem, loose connection, brushes and finally something internal to the genny.
Easier to troubleshoot when my hands are on it…
Sorry I couldn’t help more.

Is there a way to test that the injector is getting the power when it should be ?

I got it running twice today
Seems to go every 25-30 tries

took hardline off the top of pump and hooked pressure test to there
46 while cranking
46 when I did the fuel bleed thing with the buttons

disconnected gauge
Hooked line back up
Bleed the system from the shredder
Fired right up
Sc69 3-4 min later

then back to UU

When it shuts down does it sound like it's laboring to start and come up to speed?

Most of the time the uu immediately after crank disconnect is fuel but if the engine is starting properly and shutting down it very well could be harness, brushes, slip rings, stator, rotor or regulator related

you can get a noid light to check injector pulses. Advance auto is where I got mine. It’s a 6 piece kit for most injector styles

It doesn’t even come close to getting up to speed

I don’t know where to look anymore
Why does it start every 25-30 tries
Something is working only intermittently I think

You are describing my exact symptoms from a bad pump and valves out of adjustment.

Another idea… if the is an inductive timing light available check to see if the spark is interrupted.

I’ll have to go buy a compression tool or rent
Thinking about ordering new injector
I cleaned mine
Now not 100% confident
Also pondering taking the fuel module out and having a look inside
It was replaced by previous owner in June 2020 right before I took possession
But i have no proof that it was actually replaced besides being unpainted

I’d like to test the scr module with the manual procedure but I can’t find where it’s located

Checked the fuel pressure again today
46 while cranking
But master switch back to off
Drops instantly to 40 and after about 5 minutes of just letting it sit the gauge is now reading 30
What does this mean ?

Still thinking it’s definitely fuel related or just a fluke
But every time I take the hard line off the top of the fuel module hook up the gauge test it
Get my number
Disconnect gauge
Hook up hard line
it’s starts
3 times this has happened now

Thinking out loud here
Input appreciated
I unhook the metal fuel line from the top of the fuel module
It runs up to the injector top of engine maybe 24” of metal fuel line
So when I unhook the metal line I lose all the fluid that’s in the line
After testing pressure I hook the line back up
Now there’s 24” by the diameter of the line of air in the system
I hit the start button and it runs
Prrs never sounding better
Then it gives me O2 sensor code and dies
Then back to normal uu code
Thought was funny because of the air in the system that it would run without me bleeding it
I then unhooked the hardline again losing all that fuel
Hooked hard line back up and it ran until O2 code
Did this 3 times
You think the pressure of that fuel getting back into hard lines and hitting the injector is making it past a clog ?
Shocking it ?
Fuel getting by and firing up?
Clogged line maybe ? I can blow through it
Bad injector maybe time for another clean
Or bad pump
I see it that other thread people are getting good pressure which shit pumps

In post 26 it was stated some corrosion was found and cleaned best possible and the genny ran fine for a few minutes and popped a ec69 02 code.
So….. something is corroded somewhere?

The following is from another forum and references 5ecd UU fault

I also recommend removing, reseating all fuses on the unit located near the digital control panel. The only time I've ever had a UU code, that resolved it. At that time, I purchased a complete set of backup fuses (there's a kohler doc that specifies each) to carry on the boat. Complete fuse set list w/ prices is here.

The fuse 6 had a little corrosion on one end
Has since been replaced

If it was me…. I would clean and reseat all the fuses, ALL connections, replace the fuel injector and 02 sensor

I’m thinking it’s got to be either the pump or the injector
I have both of them and the 02 sensor in my shopping cart as well as new fuses and a “spare kit” with all the maintenance parts in it
Time to order up I guess
