2000 410 Express (3116TA) Exhaust Water Flow Issue

Hi.... My friends 410 has for 3 years had intermittent exhaust water flow issues...impellers were changed with no difference....water flows for a short period of time (a few seconds) then stops then water shoots out and repeats. there are no temperature problems. Any ideas what might be causing this?:huh:

You will find that this is the norm for these exhaust systems. Frank Webster will better explain why in due course.

Most of the water goes out the bottom of the boat but I would have him check the strainers anyway.
