Well, I have not posted any fishing reports and photos in a while, so I figure I'm about due.

The past couple of weeks we have fished a couple of lower Lake Huron salmon tournaments and actually did quite well. The salmon have been rather elusive, but we have caught plenty of lake trout, coho salmon and bonus brown trout and walleye.

Here we are lined up and ready for the shotgun start at the CanIICan salmon tournament in Harbor beach this past Saturday. The old classic Ray still rocks with the big dogs!

Here's one of the trout we caught in the tournament. 14#er baby! This fish bit a green/camo colored ProKing spoon right on the bottom in 85 feet of water.

We weighed 6 of those big lake trout to net us 61.4#'s in the tournament and a solid 2nd place finish for $4100 paycheck plus other cash and prizes!!

Took my kids out on a smaller tournament the week before out of Harbor Beach and they reeled in many small coho salmon like this:

My oldest boy caught this beautiful 6# brown trout.

And my younger son caught a great eating bonus walleye!

It's been a great year so far and it is just getting started!

Good to see you out on the lake, and congrats on the 2nd place...someone posted about it earlier this week, hope you have continued success

Getaway you're making my mouth water just looking at those beauties.

Congrats on the 2nd place win and on spending time with your boys on the water.

YOU DA MAN!!!

Thanks guys. GFC, those boys are getting big enough now to practically run the ship on their own!!

Makes me proud!

You must have had a good chop out there over the weekend,do you troll with the wind or into it for the salmon and lakers?

It was dead calm all three days out there this weekend Glenn. Beautiful weather which is unusual this time of year.

We usually troll the direction that we are catching more fish. Some days it's into the seas, somedays it's with them, other days we fish the "ditch". You never know which direction works one day to the next. My FishHawk down speed and temp has really helped that situation. Underwater currents really play a part in trolling speeds and directions.

Awesome. Can't wait to get my boat in the water. My off season upgrades include a pair of walker tournament electric riggers and a Fishhawk X4d. I splash on the 15th. Look out Georgian Bay salmon and trout. You can run but you can't hide!

That's what I'm afraid of Play Dough. Lake Michigan looks to be headed in the direction that Lake Huron took 10 years ago...

Creekwood, you are gonna love that FishHawk!
