    Hi Guys,

My 2010 240 Sundancer's tabs are not moving (neither side). I am troubleshooting again tomorrow (prior to the 110+ real feel temps kicking in on Long Island - boat is in Great River, NY) again using YouTube info but would like to know if anyone has part numbers or location to get either new solonoids or a totally new pump just in case?

I have electric and the pump goes on in both directions but I did not jump the wires at the pump for the solonoids yet. Neither tab moves and no visible sheen of fluid in the water. I did note that the pump appears only 1/2 full with fluid (Can that affect them not moving?). Tabs are stuck in level position (thankfully) and have pressure as I cannot freely move them up or down.

I use the tabs all the time and the boat really needs them to get on plane and balance - it is notoriously "tippy" without them.

    Help!

Those pumps and solenoids rarely go but they do. I would look at fuses and the switches first.

If you press the switch to bring them up do you hear the pump kick on?

    Kevin,

Yes. Both directions pump engages audibly. I am going to jump the pump manually early tomorrow to see if I hear the solenoids click.

If I remember correctly the solenoids are basically magnets and even though they are different colors they are interchangeable. I also believe the pump only runs in both directions and the solenoids just control the flow port/starboard.

This document may give you some additional information. I used it back when I had issues on my 260DA. After extensive testing it turned out to be an intermittent switch.

Thanks for the manual. I have a feeling it might be electrical at the pump itself. I am going to Jump the connections which looked pretty crappy. I may end up cutting the plug and putting butt connectors on them. One step at a time.

    Update Saturday, July 20: fixed!

Fixed the problem on the boat. Looks like the connections at the pump itself were corroded inside the plug that is allegedly sealed. What is even stranger is that the switches for the port and starboard side trim controls were reversed at the helm. Port was on starboard and starboard was on port on the dashboard. I replaced the connections at the corroded plug and swapped the switches at the dashboard around (That one was very strange).

If I'm not mistaken, they are supposed to be wired opposite so that the direction works as we expect. Something like elevators and ailerons on a plane.

You’re the second person that told me that. I guess I will now switch them back at the helm

Yes the buttons represent the bows and the action. If you press the port bow down it actuates the starboard tab to compensate.
