That's where the cooler goes. Ours is an Igloo Marine - not sure of the size. The block toward the front keep it from sliding.

My boat is on a lift and I am having the problem when I don't have a cover on the boat. You may be correct that the angle of the boat on the lift may not be sufficient but that is a major operation to change. I'll have to do some more sleuthing to see if I can figure this out.

    Thanks all
    Ike

Depends on the lift. Mine is on a HydroHoist, I just had to pull the two bolts for the front of the bunks and raise them a hole. Took all of 5 minutes to do. My boat was a little low in the bow and water would not drain all the way from the front ski locker.

Hello Ike, last weekend I noticed the drain at the bottom of the cup holder in the back of my 2005 had some debris stuck in it (courtesy of grandkids):
After cleaning it I poured in some water to flush it, and discovered it does not have a drain hose attached. It was dribbling right next to one of my batteries - could this be part of your issue?

I'm going to add a hose down to the bilge, just to be safe.

Both water pumps and manifolds done, may indicate it had a major overheat and hurt the engine. Definitely do a compression test and see if the boat runs up to WOT rpm spec.

I am on the fence with this popyacht place. The 350MAG with the Bravo 3 outdrive is the perfect combination for that Boat. Yours is smaller. I would go 350MAG. 300 hours is very low for a 15 year old Boat. So I would have a engine survey done and have them look at everything not just compression.
When you find a good one there is no better bow rider out there hands down. Good luck

Thanks for your information as it will be my first boat such kind of thing is important for me to know.

Thanks all you wrote is new for me, as Im living in Europe (Georgia, Tbilisi) for me its a little difficult to check boat conditions, I will ask agents I think PopYachts will have this kind of service.

One more question regarding salty water Im going to use boat mostly in salty water Black Sea salty rate 17-18% is better to find fresh water cooled boat? Its very seldom such kind of boats most of them what I found on raw water cooled system.

The specs and the price on that boat are fine. Salt water boats sell for one half of what a fresh water boat does. That would sell for $28K in Colorado.

Just wanted to say Hi, next week we will take delivery of a 04 240 Sundeck. I have read every post in this thread from start to finish, definitely a wealth of knowledge. The only sad part is its going to be 6 months before we get out on the water again. Really looking forward to this boat!

Picked up our new to us 240 this weekend. Its a 04 with 260 hours, the interior is a 10 and the previous owner was meticulous on maintenance with documentation with everything that has been done. Needs a good buff/wax which I am looking forward to doing. Gets winterized and shrink wrapped on Weds. I now have all winter to make a "to do list". Cannot wait for next season! Question--Our 240 Sundeck has been in dry lift storage in Florida and not been used since April 2017.
The plan is to launch her at the end of the October. I know the batteries need to be charged. They are disconnected. Fuel stabilizer was put in the tank. The Admiral thinks that maybe some rubber elements, ie Impeller, might have turned brittle. My plan is to launch, connect the batteries, fire her up and watch the gauges. Any advice would be appreciated.

Top off the water in the Battery if the caps are removable
    Charge it up.
    Check the fluid levels
Warm it up and change the oil and filter.
    How old is the impeller?

Thanks for the heads up. The impeller is probably 3-4 years old.
The boat is only used in the winter months being snowbirds.

Next week I am having my 2007 240 sundeck pulled from the water to have some maintenance done. The main objective is to replace the gimbal ring which requires removal of out drive and engine. On the list of things to inspect / replace are bellows, gimbal bearing, water feed hose, bilge pump, raw water pump impeller, cool fuel filter, take a look at the risers (has closed cooling so manifolds should be good). Is there anything else that would be best replaced or at least looked at while it is apart ? How about the shift cable ? fl dock.jpg

Check the oil pan for rust and replace the starter if it’s more than a few years old.

I would replace the shift cable since it has to be removed anyway.
