When open engine bay say “oil” in the bildge and belt was off. Seems a “pulley” broke....see pics

why would that happened? Just need replaced that “pulley”? Cause damage to engine and that’s why oil out??
Do you mean you "saw" oil in the bilge? I assume the engine wasn't talking to you... or was it?

The pulley broke either because it was just it's time, or possibly you leaned hard on it by accident while you were down there. Check your other pulleys really well while you're at it. The belt looks like it pretty much stayed in position so I'm not sure if the pulley/belt has anything to do with the oil. The only thing that's nearby would be the remote oil filter and lines - check those out. Otherwise, it's a completely unrelated incident. Did you do any other maintenance recently?

Thanks for the reply!

lol didn’t talk to me, edited :)

recently had 300hrs maintenance at MM

afterwards IAC valve went valve which I changed today

then this incident

was concerned that due to overheating, metal expanded/gasket went bad then oil out....

What’s the name of that pulley if want to buy to replace myself?

called a local marina and told me 5-6 wks behind to even look at it.

So, first your engine was talking to you... and now your marina apparently is more interested in planting trees than doing engine work? :) You do know it's OK to proofread your posts before you hit the reply button, right? ;)

If you slowed down and stopped the engine as soon as you got the alarm and then didn't run the engine anymore, which would be the logical thing to do, there's no way you did any damage. IF, however, you continued to run the engine... all bets are off and you (or hire someone) needs to just get in there and check things out... there's no way for me to do it from where I am.

ok thank you. Yes stopped right away and was towed back home.

I'm hoping someone can assist with the best way to run a 4 conductor wire from the helm panel to the front storage locker on my 2007 260DA. I was thinking the horn wires could perhaps allow me to pull additional wires, but not sure if they are "Free" and not fastened somewhere during their run. These additional wires would be for a pair of RGB LED "Boarding lights" that would shine down on the ground from being mounted at the very top of the keel line next to the anchor roller.

I have a 2003 260. 350 MPI. Was getting 4000 rpm max. It has gen and AC. Swapped both fuel filters, got it up to 4200 rpm. Top speed I’ve hit is 31 mph(though I think the speedometer is suspect, need to gps it) does that sound right? I’m waiting for distributor cap, then doing a tune up. Hoping it will help. Also, I’m at the Sacramento River and growth is a problem. Boat is not bottom painted but will be when I pull it out near end of summer. Looking for feedback on what your similar set ups top out at rpm wise

Way low on RPM and speed. Should be getting close to 5,000RPM, if not a little over and at least low 40's. ANY growth, however slight, can have a dramatic effect. This is assuming you are trimming the drive correctly.

Drive is trimmed correctly. Just before porposing. So you think the growth can be causing this much of an issue? If so, once bottom painted should I see better performance? Lastly, any ideas of what other issues can cause this low rpm?

100% absolutely - a little growth is all it needs... that's why I mentioned it the first time :) Yes, properly cleaned or painted would then return performance.

Possible things... fuel quality, fuel supply, fuel filter, and of course typical tune-up items. Since we know it's dirty, that should get fixed first - then if it's still an issue, revisit.

FYI, look for the '9-'04 260DA thread as you're in the '05-'09 model thread and they are different boats.

Were you alone or did you have the extended family aboard?

Did not realize that. Thank you

Based on my experience with a similar size boat with the same 350 Mag MPI, those performance numbers seem high. At WOT mine got to about 4800 rpm and max speed was 36 mph. That was with a clean bottom, 1/2 fuel and one person. That said, rough paint had stolen about 8 mph and 4-500 rpm.

Something else to consider too are clogged injectors. I had that issue separately from flaking cool fuel module paint. Cleaning the injectors and resolving the flaking paint restored performance.

The forward sump pan/tub needs to be replaced on my 2007 260DA. Does anyone know where I can find this replacement part?

It turns out that a broken fitting (where the shower drain tube is attached) on this plastic tub was the source of my wet floor.

I Googled everywhere and did a number of searchers on this site but can't seem to locate a replacement part.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

UPDATE: I found it and am posting the link here in case anyone else needs one. https://www.hodgesmarine.com/rul99b...Ygq8c2Jsnx8CfJV0zDM93ICrBxpdLqNhoCFgwQAvD_BwE

it looks like you have been the first post in thins thread for a long time. I was beginning to wonder if it was a dead thread. I recently got an 07 260 DA and have been looking for this thread. It’s not the easiest to find. Glad you found the part you were looking for and sharing where you found it. Bet that’s going to be a pita to swap out under the step in the cabin. Let us know how it goes.

When connected to shore power do you all leave the battery charger turned on all of the time? When on the trailer at home, I keep my 260 connected to shore power with fans running. I wasn’t sure if the original onboard battery charger is a smart charger that will cycle on/off as needed if I leave the charger switch on in the panel. Don’t want to boil over or ruin brand new batteries. Thanks!

I leave the charger on, but I knew it was the “smart” type. You might just want chesxk the model and look up its specs.

Yes, plugged and and battery charger on. I also run fans in the cabin to keep the air circulating. You OEM charger is likely a Guest charger and I am pretty sure it is a smart charger. When we had our 260, I never had a battery issue with the charger on all the time.

I hope this thread isn't dead.... I learned a ton by reading past posts and will have a few questions and reports going forward.

I too just bought a 2007 260 DA. We've had it out once so far and are looking forward to many trips exploring Puget Sound area. So far, we've done a lot of maintenance and a few updates. Once this shower sump is replaced, we're ready for some trips.

Actually, it was fairly easy to remove even though there is very little work space in the step hole. Hopefully the new one goes in smoothly.
