40 sedan bridge forum

I was on a fellow CSR members 400DB and saw these beautiful custom blinds that cost around a full boat dollar. So I went the poor mans route again. I bought two regular blinds at less than $100 each and did the best I could to make a matching corner panel. I am going to experiment with routing out some faux slats on a scrap piece to mimic the blind look and to let a bit more light in.

Copying Bill, I did the same thing. Except I used an off white piece for the filler (it's black on the other side).

John and I kinda developed this idea together and kicked around ideas for the corners. We decided to each do different approaches to see which we liked better. We decided we like both. Lots of other approaches you could try as well. We ordered our blinds from blinds.com. We did find you need to measure both windows. There are slight differences in width.

My wife had her sister and niece down a few weeks ago and they managed to remove the port sofa from the floor. Last weekend I redrilled and installed new screws (larger diameter). After "beefing" up the anchoring and adding a few more screws to the mix, I still feel like it's a horrble design! With the sofa laid down the whole bed is cantilevered out over a couple feet and all that's holding it is screws through a 2 x 2 frame into fiberglass. I find it strange that I could be the only one having trouble with this design. Discuss...lol.

Do you have any information on who made the custom blinds shown in the first photo?

Hey all. I need some help. My windlass got halfway up and quit working. I manally pulled it up and clipped it to the boat but have been unable to determine what happened. I cannot find a breaker for the windlass. It there one? Bad switch? Any suggestions?

Port side stern. Where the battery switches are. Big red one in the middle. :)

Check the 105 amp breaker is in the cockpit. The locker with the battery switches

FWIW I think those darn breakers are temp sensitive. If I remember correctly those things are rated at about 70* and degrade in heat from there up. Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I had an issue in our 370 with our charger and after we sold it I figured this might have been the culprit due to heat from engines and summertime.

Well, I just finished up joining the galley sink direct drain club.

I had the same problem except it was my daughter and son-in-law. I solved to it by replacing the screws with bolts and large washers. It was tough to get to the underside of the floor because it is so close to the engine but I was able to do it.

That was 3 years ago and I haven't had a problem since.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I guess I have winter project #42...
At least I can claim no more visitors this season. It's our first with the boat.

With regards to sending the sinks overboard, is there a reason to forgo using a "trap" by looping the drain? I suppose it's not a big deal but...spiders, bugs, etc...

Anyone have information on the gel coat for our boats? I need to do some minor scratch repiar
