So here's my situation. I ordered carpet from our sponsor snap in carpet. I ordered the cockpit and rear deck carpet. They sent me the pattern email to confirm my seating style in the cockpit which is the 3 seat configuration. When I finally got the boat andbrought the carpet up they sent me the 2 seat configuration. So when I called customer service they said they didn't have a pattern for the 3 seat cockpit even though they sent me an email showing it in the picture. They told me I would have to create a pattern for them to fabricate it.

So here's my predicament. I don't feel comfortable cutting my own pattern and being responsible for if it's not exact. Is there someone who has the 3 seat configuration w the carpet that if I paid for supplies wouldn't mind cutting a pattern of the exact carpet?

Are you talking about the bridge carpet? If so, is your bench seat L shaped and set back?

I too discussed this with the same carpet company a few months ago. They told me although they have a template of our boat, that I should make a template because no two boats have the captains chairs in the exact same place. Not sure why they didn't tell you the same.

So I will be making my template soon and I will be glad to post pics of the template creation process.

Guys..........making the template is really easy. I made the templates for my entire carpet set in about 2 hours. Use this as an advantage to improve the fit for your boat. Sea Ray uses a basic template so there is a large margin around edges and seating. There isn't really a trick to it other than being sure you template material cannot move as toy trace the margins. I used kraft paper and just cut out openings out in the template to tape it to the floor of the cockpit, then patched the holes after I finished. Be very sure you mark the template so the carpet company knows which side it the top and which is front/aft.

I worked with Corinthian Marine Carpets on mine and they were a dream to deal with and the carpet came out perfectly. In fact, pictures of our carpet set are used on their website gallery.
