Hey 400/410 owners - have any of you guys found a neat trick for pulling a wire from the stereo head unit in the cabin all the way up to the helm?
I spent an hour this weekend taking most of the starboard "cubby wall" apart in the mid-cabin area. Without removing the electrical outlet completely I don't see how that wall section comes out. It was at this point I decided to go no further. I was going to start breaking stuff.
Another thought I had was trying to use the existing Clarion remote wires to pull the new wire with. I'm assuming these will be secured along the way but I might give it a shot before going back into the mid-cabin.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
Yes, did this job with my new head unit with remote. The wires actually run through a corrugated wire tube from stereo to helm. Pull the storage box right of helm out. At the forward floor level tube ends there. I ran a snake with a extra string from the stereo end back towards the helm. I also attached a led camera endoscopes 20ft to the end so I could keep tabs on areas that got tricky like bends and turns. I placed a flash light at the helm side so as I approached I knew I was close to the exit. Lots of wires to get past but enough room to get through. Left the string there for future projects.
The endoscope hooked to my Samsung phone with app. Amazon 15 bucks.
Hope that helps.
