morning, new to posting but what I have read in very interesting definitely shows how passionate you all are about the 48'. need help in replacing fuel senders in my 48' anyone with tips or is this a job for boat yard? not much room above the engines is there cut out in the cabin?
I'm putting in new WEMA Fuel senders in a 2004 this weekend since I have the floors out anyway, I can snap some pics from top and bottom if that helps, but the info above is correct, they have to come out through the access holes. The WEMA units cost a little more, but I think they use magnets and not a mechanical arm w/ the resistors built in --- that's what usually failsThere are cutouts behind the couch and in the base of the cabinets on the starboard side...odd they are both out at the same time.
I've been on the phone w/ the diesel support side of vessel view (looking at the 703, 4 is not an option w/ what we have) about upgrading from the original smart craft/diesel view that came w/ the boat. Sounds do-able w/ a few twists. I'll report back. So far it doesn't appear that the new vessel view, nor the C127 raymarine monitor will pick up my EGT info on NMEA PGN 130316 from the maretron TMP100, so I guess that will be another gauge......Sorry, I can't help with that off the top of my head. I'd be interested to know what you find out though so please report back.
Have you had your props re pitchedGreat engines, just make sure they are propped correctly. Lots of info here and on Boatdiesel.
What QT said is correct, every boat is different. I took the pitch in mine down to 29. Just was able to get it out an on the plane after a long stay in the boatyard. Fresh Bottom, Full fuel and water (Salon interior still out though) and it jumped out of the hole and hit 35mph w/ a little throttle left. We're just checking to see if the turbos would spool up, real test run later this week. Getting the new gauges/displays hooked up now so I can see EGT, fuel burn, etc, but am expecting to have significantly taken the lug off the engines and cool the exhaust down.I’m new to the forum and would like some info on the correct propping of my QSM 11s
Cheers Steve
Thanks so much, that would be awesome, should just be 4 corner screws and lift up slightly enough to get an angle of the wires connected to the lower left 3 rocker switches. Thanks!!!!!Sorry, I meant to take a pic this past weekend but was scrambling to get ready for launch this week. I'll be down a few times this week and will try to remember.
