GHS lift on a 58. Does anyone have an ideal of what the recommended lift/carrying capacity on the Hydraulic Swim Platform would be on a 58? Thanks in advance.

Morgan,
I'm not sure, but I believe it is over 800#. I carry an 800# Dingy or an 800# waverunner, and it lifts them up fine with me on it at the same time.
My GHS has two large stainless braces mounted to the top platform bolts and angled down and bolted to each stringer. Feels pretty solid to me.Thank you for the quick response. I think the more important issue is the transom and what it can hold. I sold a 48 Dancer a few years ago. When I had that boat, I never liked the feel of the platform. You could feel the transom wall giving when you would walk on the platform. So I stiffened the transom by extending stainless threaded rods from the bolts that mount the lift to the transom out to the first stringer on either side of the Genset. That made the Platform solid. I carried an 825# Sea Doo with no issues. I'm currently completing the purchase of a 2008 55 Sundancer and when I stand on that platform, it feels way more solid than the 48. So I was wondering about it's capacity. I actually plan on carrying 2 of the Spark Sea Doos hopefully. Anyone seen a 58 or larger with 2 jet skis on it.
Awesome, I'm assuming the 55 hopefully has stiffeners like that. I have pictures of how I stiffened the 48 up if anyone is interested. It was a real easy project. My GHS has two large stainless braces mounted to the top platform bolts and angled down and bolted to each stringer. Feels pretty solid to me.
I believe the 58 is the same as the 52 and I thought I read somewhere it’s a 1000 pound lift.GHS lift on a 58. Does anyone have an ideal of what the recommended lift/carrying capacity on the Hydraulic Swim Platform would be on a 58? Thanks in advance.
On the GHS website they say they make 1000, 1500, and 3000 lb lifts.I believe the 58 is the same as the 52 and I thought I read somewhere it’s a 1000 pound lift.
That makes sense. I must have the 1000On the GHS website they say they make 1000, 1500, and 3000 lb lifts.

Mike,Carter, if you are on your boat, can you measure the length of the bunks? The OP made comment that they are longer (kids growing up) and I am in the same situation now. I want to see if the difference is really that much. Mike
And when I said when she is light on fuel, the stern rises 4", that isn't really correct - the whole boat rises 4". Her boot stripes will always be parallel to the water regardless of fuel load...Good evening Carter, Thanks so much for your reply! Here she is..

I'm relatively new to the forum, however, I have been trolling in the background for a while. I'm in contract to buy a 2006 58DB and I have my surveys next week. My previous boats were a 2004 Silverton 34C and a sea ray 290AJ and a bunch of other center consoles. I live on Long Island and will keep the boat in Montauk for the summer and somewhere in south Florida for the winter. I was an active member of the Silverton owners club and I do most of my own maintenance. I've read and annotated all the known issues on this site on what to look for during the survey, however, I am still asking if anyone knows of any other known issues I should be on the lookout for. The boat recently went through some recent upgrades and appeared to be unused and in a state of disrepair prior to that, which is making me a little skeptical. I appreciate any insight anyone can provide and I look forward to being an active member in the club if the boat surveys well. Attached is the YachtWorld listing for the boat.

Fortunately the '06 and subsequent 58DB's have real wood finished woodwork - not the laminate veneer that peels off...Its hard to tell from the pictures of that boat what interior wood finish it has. Sea Rays of this vintage (2005-2013??) can have interior woodwork that suffers from delamination of the veneer, most easily spotted at the edges, and/or cloudiness in the finish. Some colors/finishes are worse than others, I think the high gloss dark cherry seems to be the worst.
Looks like my twin. that's the dark walnut interior finish - solid wood - no laminate...ER looks very clean in the pics...I'm relatively new to the forum, however, I have been trolling in the background for a while.
