Has anyone swapped a stock 6 Gal Water Heater for an 11 Gal unit in a 07 280 DA (twin 4.3 w/ gen arrangement)? the 11 Gal is 3 inches larger H/W/T, and it looks like there is room.....

Why would you want to spend the extra $? My 6 gal W/H is plenty for the GF and I to both have decent showers. Also it only takes a few minutes for it to reheat. Don't see a point in larger capacity.

Agreed! We don't run out either. We run out of fresh water occasionally though!

Not quite sure why you want to change it, but if you just HAVE TO, my opinion would be to look into a tankless, on-demand type of water heater. They are MUCH smaller, much easier to find a suitable location for mounting and much more efficient as they only need to heat water when you are calling for it. And don't forget tehy will produce hot water as long as you supply water to the unit, no re-warming down time. Just my opinion. Good luck.
