i have the two batteries in parallel on the port side by the head system , the other battery in the battery locker under the cockpit seat. obviously the parallel batts are the house bank , but my question is , on the battery cutoff switch , I assume the port side house bank is labeled "2"?
seems obvious but I don't want to assume

twin 7.4. going to spend the first night on the hook tomorrow and want to make sure im using the correct bank!

I just want to make sure im switching to the two battery bank for the time on the hook. I imagine the port bank is the number 2 on the selector. Im looking for confirmation on that

The two banks are completely separate. You can't use the wrong one.

Don't you have two separate switches? My 330 have one switch for each bank with in and off only. I never turn them off except over winter.

in most sub-standard installations from manufactures (my opinion)the 2 batteries joined are engine start and house system, the battery alone is the starting battery for the other engine.
The best thing you can do is disconnect the + side of all the batteries , then connect 1 and see what works using the battery switches and record them. Disconnect that battery and connect the other bank and do the same test.
And if you find you have 1 engine battery for both engines you need to correct that first
