95 searay 195 b/r capacity plate

I have a 1995 Searay 195 b/r & my Maxium Capacity sticker/plate is badly faded & can not make out what it say's. I contacted searay & they said it was available. I went to Marine Max & was told IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Does anyone know where I can get one ?

Go back to whomever you contacted at Sea Ray and tell them: "I contacted my dealer, who is Marine Max in ------- and they either would not or could not order a capacity plate for me. Can you send me one or a photocopy of one?"

If a duplicate isn't available, Sea Ray has the information since it is required for this sized boat. Ask them to photocopy the information and mail it to you, then have one produced in a sign shop and adhered to an aluminum plate and file the original for next time.

I sent a email to the rep. at Searay now just got to wait for them to contact me back. My friend told me the same thing you did, Get one made at a sign shop. I don't know maybe it's me but Marine Max never want to put the extra effort into looking for something for a customer after you buy a boat from them. But when you first buy a boat from them, they bend over backwards for you. Have you had the same problem ?

I'm not in a MM area, so I can't speak to their customer service. However, dealers are independant businesses and you have to understand how they work. On something small like this, there isn't enough profit in the sale to pay for the phone call ordering and handling the part. Add to that the fact that most dealers have parts/service personnel on some type of incentive (bonus) pay plan. Those guys will spend their time on higher profit endeavors that the sale of one capacity plate. While we may not like or appreciate it, that is the way it works on small parts sales. Sea Ray doesn't like it when customers are not served, hence, my suggestion that you mention that you went to your local dealer first.

Yeah I know. I spoke to a CSR at Searay today & was told that in fact it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE & I would have to go to a Graphix shop & get one made. She said she was going to look in the Archive's & try to find it & email it to me so I can get on made up. Thanks for the help guy's. Jim
