Hey guys, Long time no post... I hope all is well with everyone and the freshwater guys are getting ready to launch their boats for what will hopefully be a fantastic few months. For the salty guys I hope that you have had fair weather and calm seas the past few months. I know that I have been dormant for quite some time but life can be a strange and funny creature at times. My personal life has been pretty crazy with lots of changes in the past few months. I ended a relationship that I was in for almost 8 years. That has been a big change for me and I must say that I the biggest one. For those that met Jess or knew her we are no longer together. We grew in different directions and decided to let each other live the lives they were headed for. I spent the last half of last fall piloting the boat completely alone and learned a LOT about myself. A 34 ft boat is a lot to handle for one guy but I did it and I am proud of it. I will do it again this year if need be. I have met someone else in the past months and she has been great. She has a son that is 8 which is a huge change for me. I have never wanted children of my own but it has been nice having the young man around and he has turned into my shadow. He's a good kid and I hope that I can show him the love of the water and of boating in general. I don't know where this relationship will go but time will tell. She's never spent much time on the boat and doesn't understand at this point why I want to spend as much time on the water as humanly possible. I know that I posted in another thread that my working career has been crazy. I am now the CAD methods OPO for Luk North America. It's a big job trying to manage CAD users in a country (Mexico) where I don't speak the language but I'm getting better and it is a challenge. I work with hundreds of people and it's interesting seeing all the different items that my parent company works with. Everything from aerospace to robots and wind turbines and especially the automotive business. Basically if it moves we do something with it. It has opened a lot of doors and I get to interact with people from all over the world and trouble shoot what problems and issues they see with their systems. I have also started working with design apprentices which I get a lot of satisfaction from. It's nice to work with young people that are passionate about the type of work I do and excel with the programs I've been setting up. It's a lot of work and long hours but it pays off end the end I guess. I hope to use the boat as much as possible this year. I am itching to get it back in the water and to install the new upholstery that was just finished...
(special thanks to Ken and Ruth for their help with the logistics of these things)
I have put the search for the 460 on hold for now because it's just me and the 340 is plenty of boat for me. I am not sure what everyone else has been up to but I do hope that everyone is doing well. I was just given access to CSR through my work so I can check this site more often as I am running around trying to put out fires.
Happy boating all!!!:smt038
