Hi all, the AC side of my salon freezer in my 2005 DA420 has died. The freezer works fine on DC, but not on AC. The AC side of this freezer plugs into a standard 120V outlet underneath the cabinets. I want to add an AC to DC converter into the AC line so that the fridge will still get DC power when I am on shore power or genny. Does anyone know what wattage capacity that I should look for, or perhaps have a specific converter that they could recommend? Thanks.

I had the same issue on my cabin fridge. $200 for the new power module solved the issue.

@Mightychan : The way my Frig power module worked was if there was 120 Volt AC, then it ran on that. Otherwise, it defaulted back to 12 Volt DC. I want to say that the cooling unit (in your case the freezer), runs on DC. The AC is converted to DC in the power module if AC is present, otherwise, the DC just passes through the Power Module.

I have an Isotherm freezer that is 12v/110v. For some reason, it had one of those units wired to the 12v side and the 110v plug had never been used. I removed it and wired it for 12v and 110v. That will solve your issue…..

Most danfoss compressors are ac/dc just need to controller replaced. I think the last one I found on ebay for $100
