Anyone have an idea why my ac keeps popping the breaker. It doesn't happen right away. It could run for hours or even days without popping it. If I leave the boat for a few days and come back, the ac breaker is off.
Thanks!

Had a similar problem this summer when my AC unit froze up (coils blocked air flow with ice). After defrosting and resetting breaker it was fine. Turned out to be a dirty filter restricting air intake. Any errors showing on your controller?

Thanks! No errors showing on the display. Where is the filter at? I bought the boat in February and while in the process of buying it, Marine Max put a brand new ac unit in.

If the compressor is working too hard to start, that will do it. I had a start capacitor go bad and caused the breakers to pop. Easy fix.

Just another idea.

We just had the same happen to us. When the thermostat set point was reached, the AC would shut down as expected but would immediately start back up causing the breaker to trip. The cure to that annoying problem was to adjust the delay time on the thermostat to 2 minutes.

Consider running it in Humidity mode (HU) when you're away. Less stress on the system and the CB pops should go away

The filter is generally right in front of the coils on the unit. The Cruisair filters slide down in front and are nothing more then a thin piece of mesh.

Bad start capacitor.

Sea Strainers been checked. Mine were clogged and would throw the breaker. Once cleaned, no problems.

Could it be even more simple? One time after cleaning my strainer, I forgot to open my valve again. Took me about 2 minutes to figure that one out, but nonetheless that'll do it.
