Got it done tonight. Would have been done two days ago but thats what I get for buying a cheap mount. After following Dans advice, I purchased the Sanus VMFL1 mount. VERY nice mount!
All in all, not to much money, and a great improvement. You can see the TV from anywhere seated in the V-berth or lying down. It's hardwired to the boats 12V system, no inverter needed. Still uses the existing DVD player, and TV antenna thats in the cabin ceiling.
